Frenectomy
Using a high-precision laser, this modern root canal treatment gently and effectively cleans and disinfects your tooth
A Simple Solution for Oral Health
A small band of tissue can have a big impact on a smile. Whether it's affecting a baby's feeding, a child's speech, or an adult's dental alignment, a simple frenectomy can be the perfect solution.
A frenum is a small piece of tissue that connects your tongue to the bottom of your mouth or your upper lip to your gums. When this tissue is too short or too tight, it can restrict movement.
Types of Frenectomies

Why a Frenectomy May Be Needed

• Speech Difficulties: A tight lingual frenum (under the tongue) can cause tongue-tie, making it hard to speak clearly or pronounce certain sounds.
• Feeding or Eating Problems: In infants and children, a restricted frenum can interfere with breastfeeding or chewing.
• Gaps Between Teeth: A thick labial frenum (between the upper lip and gums) may cause a noticeable gap between the front teeth, especially in children.
• Gum Health Issues: An improperly positioned frenum can pull on the gums, making it harder to brush and floss properly, which increases the risk of gum recession or inflammation.
• Orthodontic Support: A frenectomy may be recommended before or during orthodontic treatment to help teeth stay in their new position and prevent relapse.
• Denture Fit Improvement: In adults, removing a problematic frenum can help dentures fit more comfortably and securely.
